You Are Invited

Day 19

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”

– Matthew 11:28

Those are the words of Jesus and He is inviting us to come to Him. How amazing! We get so wrapped up sometimes in what is in front of our faces that we forget that we have been invited by the King of kings and Lord of lords to spend time with Him and find rest with Him. At times I catch myself getting caught up in what other people are doing or paying too much attention to what others are thinking. None of it matters!

Sometimes we tire ourselves out with things that are meaningless and useless. We spend our “extra” time surfing the web or scrolling through social media when we could be spending time with our Heavenly Father. It is for our own benefit that God allows us to come to Him, but still we struggle to do it.

Accept God’s invitation and spend time with Him, listen to worship music, pray for your situation and your family members. You will see an instant turn around in your own attitude and in how things are going in your life.

And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t canceled at the time of Joshua; otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.”
– Hebrews 4:8-13 (MSG)

The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey, we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it so we can eventually arrive at the place of rest, and not drop out through some sort of disobedience. God means what He says. What He says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it-no matter what.

Don’t miss out on God’s rest and His promises.

Take action: How do you plan to find rest in God?

Believing with you,

Yvonne
