Day 24 “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.” – Ephesians 3:20 Do you ever feel...
1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: 2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let’s focus on growing in our knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ each and every day. In the Greek, knowledge means, “to know through participation.” We add to our knowledge when we take the Truth of the Word and apply it to our every day lives.
This word from Peter is a win-win for us when we desire to grow in our knowledge of Jesus because we will receive:
1) Grace and peace in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus.
2) Everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him.
3) His Divine nature, so we can escape the corruption of the world and evil desires through our knowledge of Him.
4) We will live effective and productive lives through our knowledge of Jesus.
We have to understand that these traits are truly a benefit to our everyday lives and they allow the growing process of the Spirit to begin and come alive in us!
Confession for today: “Holy Spirit, allow me to grow in Your knowledge and grace each and every day so that I can grow in You and escape the corruption of this world each and every day!”
