Doors Only He Can Open

Day 04

“These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.”

– Revelation 3:7

“The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope.”

– Psalms 34:18

The Lord is good! All the time, the Lord is good. I know I say this a lot, but it is because it is always on my spirit. The main scripture at the top talks about how God opens doors, or opportunities. I like to think of it as only He can open or close doors. Let’s think about this scripture from a different angle, like heartache. Sometimes things in life just don’t seem to be going the way you thought they would. Maybe you just ended a relationship with a guy/gal that you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with, or maybe you didn’t get into a school or job you wanted. Right away this will make you sit back and say, “What the heck! I really thought that was God’s will! Doesn’t God hear my prayer?” These are normal thoughts and reactions, but this is a dangerous place to stay. The devil can use these thoughts to turn you away from God.

Heartache and disappointment might not be the easiest thing to get over, but know that God will give hope to the hopeless and strength to the weak! No matter what disappointment you have gone through, always know that right around the corner God has a new door for you to walk through that is even better! You thought that relationship or school was the best, but now that you see what God has had in store for you all along, you will be amazed! His ways are so much higher than our ways! Always remember that!

…always know that right around the corner God has a new door for you to walk through…!

God hears your prayers and, as you live righteous lives, He will continually open and close doors in your life. Remember to keep your faith and trust in the Lord so that if disappointment or heartache occur, the joy and peace of God are right around the corner! God will never leave you nor forsake you, so always lean on the Creator in times of disappointment and heartache.

Confession for today: “Lord, I know you hear my prayers and I lean not on my own understanding, but on You alone!”

God is good… all the time… all the time…
