Don’t Get Bent Out of Shape

Day 09

“In the day when I called, You answered me; and You strengthened me with strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self.”

– Psalms 138:3

Have you ever felt like you were about to snap? Have you ever been in a situation where you are on the verge of making a negative decision that you know will affect your future? It isn’t easy living in this generation. There are so many temptations to sin that are easily accessed and hidden. It can be especially difficult if we lack a true understanding of the strength we have been given through Christ’s love. I love this scripture because it reminds me of the strength that I was given the moment I called on God’s name. We are not left without any help or defense against temptation. The scripture above says that we are strengthened with “might and inflexibility to temptation.”

Often we hear the word inflexibility and we think that it is a negative trait. People will say, “she is too uptight” or “you just need to relax and enjoy life.” God has given us strength that is inflexible to sin. The word that came into my spirit when I read this scripture was rigid, which means “unable to bend or be forced out of shape; not flexible.” The enemy wants to have you bend to his will. He wants you to be forced out of the safety of the Word. People say, “if you don’t bend you will break,” but that isn’t true for children of God! We are rigid when it comes to the things of God and there is nothing wrong with that.

We are not left without any help or defense against temptation.

That word inflexible is a picture of strength! YOU are unbending, YOU are unyielding, YOU are unbreakable, YOU won’t be forced out of shape, and YOU won’t snap under the pressures of life! That is the strength, might, and power that is freely given to you when you call out to the Lord! Be encouraged to stand firm in what you believe today and don’t be bent out of shape!

Find peace in His embrace,
