Psalm 28:7
For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things {fix your minds on them}.
Psalm 118:24
This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Romans 15:13
May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing {through the experience of your faith} that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
It is possible to live a life of Joy in any situation. God’s Word says to trust Him with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5). There is Joy in seeking God for guidance in your life and trusting that He will take care of you and direct your life according to His Word.
It is easy to follow your feelings and inclinations, but it takes effort to be Joyful when the situation or your mood is otherwise. This is when you will need to make a choice, so ask the Holy Spirit for help and then be obedient to what He tells you to do.
God’s Word says to cast all your cares on Him. You are able to do this through prayer so you can get rid of all the weighty thoughts, and know that all the trials you face work out for the best.
Joy is the absence of worry, doubt, and earthly cares. Joy is the result of obedience to God’s Word, and choosing to do what is right.
Every choice to obey God is a step away from sin and heaviness and a step closer to ever increasing Joy in your life.
Confession for today: “In the name of Jesus, I cast all my anxiety and cares on Him because He cares for me. I am now free from worry, doubt and the cares of this world. From now on I am going to live a Joyful life…AMEN.”
