It is possible to live a life of joy in any situation. God’s Word says to trust Him with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5). There is joy in seeking God for guidance in your life and trusting that He will take care of you and direct your life according to His Word. It is easy to follow your feelings and inclinations, but it takes effort to be joyful when the situation or your mood is otherwise. This is when you will need to make a choice, so ask the Holy Spirit for help and then be obedient to what He tells you to do. God’s Word says to cast all your cares on Him. You are able to do this through prayer so you can get rid of all the weighty thoughts and know that all the trials you face will work out for the best.
Joy is the absence of worry, doubt, and earthly cares. Joy is the result of obedience to God’s Word and choosing to do what is right. Every choice to obey God is a step away from sin and heaviness and a step closer to ever increasing joy in your life.
