W.A.I.T. (Part 1)

Day 23

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].”

– 1 Corinthians 15:58

Sometimes we find ourselves in a season of waiting. Whether it is waiting to hear an answer from God about something we’re believing for or waiting for the next new season in our life to begin. During these times we may feel like we aren’t progressing much in our walk with the Lord when, in fact, God is actually stretching our faith and causing us to grow spiritually! It is also a time when the enemy knows we will be more vulnerable to his assaults!

While we W.A.I.T., the enemy would try and attack our lives with…

W. – Worry! He will try and cause us to think negatively about our future and our purpose in life and in Christ. The enemy wants us to believe that God has forgotten and abandoned us during a season of waiting.

“Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

A. – Anxiety! The enemy wants to rob us of our peace and joy, which both come from God.

“And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7

I. – Inactivity! Satan would love nothing more than to steer our focus away from heavenly things, causing us to become stagnant in our walk with the Lord.

“In order that you may not grow disinterested and become [spiritual] sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by practice of patient endurance and waiting are [now] inheriting the promises.” – Hebrews 6:12

T. – Test, Trials & Temptation! The devil loves to plan and time his attacks strategically. His goal is to separate us in our walk with the Lord and, ultimately, cause us to deviate from God’s will and purpose for our lives. Rendering us ineffective as believers.

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4

…we may feel like we aren’t progressing much in our walk with the Lord, when in fact, God is actually stretching our faith…!

Stay strong in your faith and stand firm during your seasons of waiting! When we are faithful to God, He is faithful to us!

Fight the good fight of faith!
