Now is the Time
Day 10 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” – 1 John 2:15 “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the...
This part of scripture tells us that there is a vine, a branch, and a Gardener or Vinedresser. Each has a part in the growing process of the fruit in our lives. The Vine here is Jesus, the Branch is us, and the Gardener is God the Father.
Today we will look at the Branch, which is us! Our part as the Branch is to abide in Him in order to bear fruit. Colossians 1 says, “…we are to bear much fruit.” The word fruit means product, results, and the consequences of one’s work.
You are being obedient to Jesus calling when you abide, live, and stay attached to Him as the Branch. Through the obedience to the Word, your life will bear fruit for Him, who is the Gardener of your life. Your fruit should look like Christ. Take this example: if you see an apple tree trunk and the root system of an apple tree, you will then expect apples to be the fruit that tree is producing. As Christians, we are attached to the branch and vine, so the fruit of our lives should then be like Jesus!
It is through our conversations, our actions, and overall attitudes we show people the true product of who we are attached to. The fruit of the Spirit being produced in your lives draws others to Jesus. As you show kindness to someone, faithfulness on your job or schoolwork, patience in times of frustrating circumstances, this is what will bear much fruit in your life for Him. This will cause others to see Godly fruit in your life and be drawn to the Lord because of the fruit of His Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) growing from your life!
The fruit of the Spirit being produced in your lives draws others to Jesus.
What fruit is evident in your life?
What fruit is needed by those around you today?
