Day 04

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

Most Christians know this scripture above, but they still find themselves frustrated and torn by what comes out of their mouth daily. My mom would always ask me, when I was frustrated about something or someone and might not be speaking very nicely, “are those words of life?” It is such a great reminder to think constantly about what is coming out of our mouths! Our words can be words of life that are building a brighter future, or words of death which rain down havoc in our lives. Words of life, with life being the key word here because what else is life but the Word of God! This Living Word of God needs to fill our hearts DAILY so that we are never running dry and allowing other things of this world to creep in, causing destructive words of death to come out.

Remember, for out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. So, if you are filled with the Word of God, then the Word of God will be on the tip of your tongue orchestrating your day. Like it says in Joshua 1:8, Speak the Word! Pastor Paul always quotes Romans 10:17 (KJV), “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God.”

So, when you are continually speaking the Word over your situation in that moment of time, you are not only going to get the best result, but your faith will increase because you are going to hear yourself speak the Word.

Confession for today: “God, help me not only spend time in Your Word, but let it overflow my heart, so that no matter what situation comes up today, I will speak Your Word at it and get a God Result…”

God is good… all the time… all the time…
