Now is the Time
Day 10 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” – 1 John 2:15 “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the...
Living with fear can be an overwhelming obstacle. It doesn’t always manifest the same way with every person. Sometimes we can be fearful of a place or situation which causes us to avoid it at all cost. Maybe it’s a person in our lives or a memory of something from our past. For many people, the fear of the unknown or of the future is very common.
Regardless of how the enemy is presenting the fear, they all share the same feeling of vulnerability. Not knowing what could happen makes us feel exposed and not in control. When I was a little girl, I was afraid of being in my bedroom alone in the dark at night. I would have my mom push my bed all the way against the wall so that I would feel protected on that side. I put pillows around me on the other sides which helped me feel less vulnerable.
Whenever I’ve felt fearful, it brings back that same feeling. The thought of something unexpected happening made me feel like that scared little girl again. As believers, we can have confidence in our God to protect us and preserve us in every situation we face. The phrase “compassed about” in Psalms 32:10 means that we are guarded on all sides. When we trust in the Lord, it’s like He has drawn a circle of protection around us, surrounding us with His safety on every side. We can be confident as we lean on the Lord for His protection and feel true safety in His presence.
When we trust in the Lord, it’s like He has drawn a circle of protection around us, surrounding us with His safety on every side.
Confession for today: “Father God, I lay this fear before You. No longer will I allow the enemy to use this to make me feel vulnerable and unprotected. You are my hiding place and in Your presence I am surrounded on every side, compassed about with Your mercy and loving kindness. I confidently lean on and trust in You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Let your light shine,
