Seek Him First

Day 20

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”

– Matthew 6:33

God-reality. As we live each day, our goal should be to live a life focused and concerned with things that are based on God’s reality. One example of this is what His Word says,

“Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”

– Galatians 6:8 (NIV)

Seems like a pretty simple concept, but do we live by this reality in our lives daily or are we sowing to the flesh in some areas which, in the end, will lead to destruction?

God-initiative. The definition of initiative is: “the power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do.” Are you allowing your decisions to be governed by what others are telling you to do or are you putting God’s Word and His ways at the front of every decision you make on a daily basis?  We should be natural leaders, causing everyone around us to act like us.  We were created to act like Christians which means “Christ-like,” so the world can come to know Him through our actions.

God-provisions. In a Kingdom, as in God’s Kingdom, there is a King. We serve under the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. As we follow God’s Kingdom principles, guidelines, and regulations, we will live within the walls of His kingdom. We live under the protection of that Kingdom and the provision of that Kingdom. Outside of the walls, we are vulnerable to attack, destruction, and ruin on every side. Stay within the walls of God’s Kingdom!

Confession for today: “Lord help me to seek You and only You first in every area of my life so I can allow You to pour out your blessings on my life.  Help me realize that if I put You first in every area of my life, I know You will meet all my needs according to Your riches in glory.”

Seek Him first!
