Don’t be too Busy for God
Day 20 “I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.” – Psalms 119:16 Do you send God busy signals? Sometimes we don’t hear the things God wants us to hear because we’re too busy with other things.
If we walk and live in the Spirit, then we can ‘pull the plug’ on our flesh so it has no power or control over us. Are you cancelling out the works of the flesh as they try to take over the fruit of the Spirit in your life? It is like using an override program on a computer. The enemy is trying to override the power we receive from living a life according to the Spirit, so that we cannot function in the way which we were created to.
Is there strife, arguing, or gossiping going on? Respond with kindness and self-control. Is envy or jealousy toward others an issue for you? Counteract those feelings with the joy and peace of the Lord. Never forget the benefits we have because of what Jesus did when He gave His life for us. Choose to live habitually as the Word tells us to live, on a daily basis.
“Make the path of the Spirit the place where you habitually walk and live. Become so comfortable on this spiritual path that you learn to leisurely and peacefully stroll along in that realm. Living your life in the Spirit realm is the best way to guarantee that you will not allow the yearnings of your flesh to creep out and fulfill themselves” (Galatians 5:16-18).
Confession for today: “Holy Spirit, guide me each day to live a life plugged into the Spirit realm. Anytime I feel my flesh trying to rise up, give me the strength to ‘unplug’ from my flesh, killing the enemy’s power over me!”
