Separation or Salvation?

Day 15

“Your wickedness has turned these [blessings] away, and your sins have withheld good [harvests] from you.”

– Jeremiah 5:25

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save, nor His ear so impaired that it cannot hear. But your wickedness has separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”

– Isaiah 59:1-2

What is sin? Sin is anything in our lives that would separate us from God. What is it that we each allow to come between us and loving fellowship with our Heavenly Father? This is a question that we should ask ourselves often as we read the Word daily, growing in our knowledge and understanding of what constitutes ‘sin’ and needs to be removed from our lives. We need to consistently check our life’s heading and course, question our own motives, realign our thoughts and conduct so that they are in harmony with the will of God. If we decide to ignore a pursuit of righteousness and instead embrace wickedness, we are intentionally choosing to turn away from God, cutting ourselves off from every good thing He would want to bless us with in life!

Imagine the mailman arriving at your house to deliver a special package from God, but your mailbox is gone, your welcome mat says ‘Go away!’ and your home is boarded up tight! When we choose disobedience over obedience, compromise over righteous living, slavery to sin over serving God with devotion, we are rejecting God’s protection, provision, purpose, peace, and blessing for our lives.

Examine yourself today and make every effort to turn toward God in loving appreciation of your salvation from separation, sin, and death!

Fight the good fight of faith!
