Day 23 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltiness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.” – Matthew 5:13 Additional reading: Galatians...
“If anyone hears My teachings and fails to observe them [does not keep them, but disregards them], it is not I who judges him. For I have not come to judge and to condemn and to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on the world, but to save the world.”
– John 12:47
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.”
– Revelation 3:20
John 3:16 (AMPC)
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He {even} gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
Hell was not created by God with man in mind. Our Heavenly Father does not want us to share in the inevitable judgment of satan and his demons. God loves us so much that He sent His only Son, not to judge and condemn and to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on us, but to save us!
Jesus is a gentleman. He stands at the door of our heart and knocks, longing to share the simple truth of His Word with us so that we might be saved! That starts with us choosing to open the door of our heart and inviting Him in. We then need to listen to what He has to say, by and through His Word. Then we have a choice: to either observe His teachings by adhering to them daily, or disregarding His Word.
Choosing to disregard the Truth of God’s Word after hearing it means we willfully accept to share in the punishment of satan. While choosing to keep God’s Word after hearing it means we accept and acknowledge that Jesus came to save us from a judgment that was never meant for us in the first place. Jesus is knocking… will you answer?
