Tell It Like It Is

Day 11

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

– Proverbs 18:21

Words are serious business. As believers we need to get serious about learning how to use them. The Word tells us that He used words to call “those things which be not as though they were”  (Rom. 4:17).

Some of us don’t know or realize that we are putting words out there that are harmful to us. We spend our words “telling it like it is” concerning our circumstances. We speak badly about the things going on around us, so the very thought of calling “things which be not as though they were,” or speaking by faith, seems a bit crazy.

When you speak by faith you are not trying to deceive yourself or others. It is simply speaking words that agree/line-up with the Word of God instead of the situations around you.

2 Corinthians 4:13 says, “It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.’ With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak.” That’s important: “I believed, and therefore I have spoken.”

There are some people who speak, but don’t back up their words with faith. Just wishing and hoping won’t get the job done… YOU MUST BELIEVE.

Begin today by bringing both what you say and what you believe into line with what the Bible says. Stop “telling it like it is” and start speaking and believing God’s promises. Put the power of words to work for you.

Confession for today: “Holy Spirit, put a watch over my tongue today so that when I speak negative words, words that don’t line up with the Word of God, I realize it immediately and repent over them.”

Starting today I will not say what I have, rather, I WILL HAVE WHAT I SAY!
