Day 08

 “So, my dear friends, listen carefully; those who embrace My ways are most blessed. Mark a life of discipline and live wisely; don’t squander your precious life. Blessed is the man, blessed is the woman, who listens to Me, awake and ready for Me each morning, alert and responsive as I start My day’s work. When you find Me, you find life, real life, to say nothing of God’s good pleasure. But if you wrong Me, you damage your very soul; when you reject Me, you’re flirting with death.”

– Proverbs 8:32-36

There are always going to be two voices we can follow: the voice of wisdom or the voice of folly. Each of these voices will lead us down a path of consequence.

The choice is ours. We can follow wisdom’s voice, and the consequence of following wisdom is life, real life. The opposite is true of choosing not to follow wisdom: it will bring damage to our lives. Jesus also talked about the choice we make of listening to wisdom or folly. Read Matthew 7:24-27.

“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.”

Choose each day to build your life on the foundation of Godly wisdom and not live a life of folly which leads to destruction. Ask the Lord each day before you leave your house to keep you awake and alert spiritually, so you don’t follow the way of the wicked. The way of the wicked leads to a life built on sand, which won’t survive the storms of life.

Follow wisdom’s voice and build your life on the Rock, and you will never have regrets about the path your life will take.
