Now is the Time
Day 10 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” – 1 John 2:15 “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the...
A few years ago I bought myself a new camera and I couldn’t wait to start using it. I took it out of the box, put some batteries in it, and immediately started taking pictures. I seemed to be getting by with what I already knew about cameras, so I tossed the instruction manual in a drawer and forgot all about it.
Then one day I hit the wrong setting and the next thing I knew, everything was in German. Since I do not speak German, I went looking for my instruction manual. The manual not only gave me the solution to the problem, it also contained page after page of all kinds of things the camera could do that I didn’t even know about. I missed out on all of the benefits that were available to me because I never bothered to open the instruction manual.
I missed out on all of the benefits that were available to me because I never bothered to open the instruction manual.
Many times we treat the Bible like that instruction manual. We figure we know enough to get by, and we set it aside. Then when trouble hits, we search through the Bible looking for solutions. The truth is, if we make it a priority to spend time in God’s Word each day, we will not only have the solutions to our problems, we’ll gain the wisdom to avoid problems to begin with. Don’t set God’s Word aside and miss out! Open God’s Instruction Manual daily and enjoy the benefits of being His child!
Confession for today: “Lord, I thank You for Your Word. Thank You that You have given me instructions to live by for my benefit. Help me to apply what Your Word teaches me. I will read Your Word daily and not just when I am facing a problem. I thank You and praise You for all of Your benefits!”
Be salt and light,
Miss Dawn
