Don’t be too Busy for God

Day 20

“I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”

– Psalms 119:16

Do you send God busy signals? Sometimes we don’t hear the things God wants us to hear because we’re too busy with other things.

Matt. 6:33 tells us to “Seek first His kingdom…” If we would follow this principle of putting God first then we will never allow other things in life to make us too busy for God. If He’s always the first thing we are focused on each day, then everything else will fall into place. The verse goes on to say “…and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” So putting God in the proper place–first–allows Him to keep our entire life in line, lacking nothing!

If He’s always the first thing we are focused on each day, then everything else will fall into place.

God’s greatest desire is to communicate with you through His Word and prayer on a daily basis. Your daily activities are important, but don’t let them keep you from spending time with God and learning about all the things that are taught in the Bible. Read it, think about it, memorize it, and then act upon it. You’ll find it helps you as you go about all your other activities throughout the day.

Confession for today: “Lord help me each day by the power of Your Holy Spirit to never become too busy with everything that is going on around me, making it look like I’m too busy to hear Your still small voice.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, allow me to put You first in every area of my life so that I can follow Your instructions each day, which are specifically designed to make me successful in all I do!”

Seek Him first!
