Do Not Be Deceived – Part 1

Day 05

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

– 1 Peter 5:8

Additional reading: James 1:1-4,5-8

I love this verse in 1 Peter that talks about staying alert. I feel that it’s a warning from God that we need to always be on our toes and always be ready for something to be thrown our way in this Christian walk.

The enemy hates that we are doing the good work of the Lord! He hates that we have peace, prosperity, and a bright future and he is going to do everything he can to take you out. How does he do this? With the same old trick from when he was in heaven: deception, starting with a thought. Combat within our mind is always tough, but that is where our battles are won and lost. This is why the Word says to renew your mind DAILY, so that your mind is sharp enough not to be deceived and sin before the Lord. Keep your mind sharp and your guard up.

Combat within our mind is always tough, but that is where the battles are won and lost.

I promise you: your future in the Lord is so much more peaceful and joyful when you follow the calling of the Holy Spirit instead of the deception of the enemy! Go out and win the battle today!

What are you doing to stay alert? Where can the enemy get in your life? Identify and “patch the holes.”

Confession for today: “Lord renew my mind today. Create in me a new heart and a new mind each day so that I can strive after and yearn for the purpose You have for me. I know You will not forsake me when the trials of life come or when the devil comes at me.”

God is good… all the time… all the time…
