Are You a Risk Taker?

Day 30

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.”

– Psalms 37:5

Additional reading: Luke 1:26-29, 30-34, 35-38

Throughout the Bible we read stories of young people who truly were risk takers. We get to see how their stories ended, but during the critical moments of decision making they did not know what the outcome would be. Mary was faced with a moment of decision when the angel came to her with the brief request of what God’s plan was for her life. At that moment Mary needed to reply. Her response was, “…let it be done to me according to what you have said…” Mary had a plan of her own already in motion: a fiancé, a wedding, maybe even the house and land purchased. She gave up her plan for God’s perfect plan! Mary took a huge risk by agreeing to this plan, not knowing how her fiancé, Joseph, would reply to the news. She could have been abandoned and potentially stoned! Mary is a great example that when we submit to God’s plan and commit our ways to His will, He will make our path straight.

“In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.”

– Proverbs 3:6 (AMPC)

What plan do you have set in motion that God may be leading you to change?

Confession for today: “God, today I fully submit my life to Your perfect plan. I will not be fearful of the unknown; knowing that as I commit my ways to You, You will take care of every detail in Your perfect will.”
