Day 13

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

– Ephesians 5:17

Have you ever wondered about whether or not you were praying in agreement with what God desires for you? You would be absolutely right if you thought that you cannot expect God to do something that is opposite of what He wants for you.

The best way for you to find out what He wants for you is to grab your Bible and study what God wants for you!

God has made some very specific promises in His Word, and it is His desire to fulfill every one of them in your life. Think of it this way: your Bible is a record of all that God has for you. Everything that He has given to you has been written down in that book. So, the smartest thing you can do is find out what’s in it. Don’t leave it shut so that when you get into a bind you hit your knees, crying for God to help you because you don’t know what He wants you to do. Rather, get your Bible out and find out what His promises are to you. Find out how you need to change to be in agreement with what is written there – because His Word is His Will!

Many people don’t do that. They try to change God’s plans instead of changing their own plan, but God will never change. His Word says that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever and so are His plans for you. So don’t waste time wondering if your prayers are in line with what God wants.

God has made some very specific promises in His Word, and it is His desire to fulfill every one of them in your life.

Get in the Book and base your prayers on it. Then get ready – the answer is on the way.

Confession for today: “I will not be foolish and I will understand and know what the Lord’s will is for me by studying His Word.”
