Stand for Something

Day 30

“Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] (believers) and be courageous; be strong.”

– 1 Corinthians 16:13

Additional reading: 1 Peter 5:8-9

There is a quote I like that says, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.” Ask yourself today, “What do I stand for?” Do you stand for the Truth of God’s Word? Or do you fall in line with whatever ‘new thing’ the world happens to be selling this week?

As believers we need to take a FIRM stand, daily. STAY ALERT! We need to keep our guard up against whatever would try to influence us away from our walk and commitment to God and to His ways. It’s time to grow up and start making decisions that better align us with the Kingdom of Heaven and God’s army, making it clear to those around us of the God that we serve!

Don’t waste your time, talents and treasures on useless endeavors! Instead, allow God to orchestrate your steps daily according to His will and purpose for your life! We can either be utilized as a useful soldier in God’s army or be manipulated and used as a pawn for the schemes of the enemy. We need to start each day off asking ourselves, “What do we stand for?”

Confession for today: “Lord, give me the courage to stand up for Your Kingdom, by standing with Jesus Christ, and by standing on the Truth of Your Word. Give me discernment to see through the plans and schemes of the enemy, and the strength necessary to resist whatever would come my way.”

Fight the good fight of faith!
