The Power of the Cross

Day 25

“For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

– 1 Corinthians 1:18

I have a question to pose to you. Does the cross represent foolishness, or is it the power of God in your life?

As we read the scripture above, does the message of the cross mean anything to you when you think about it, or is it just a medallion that you see on peoples necklaces or on famous statues? If the meaning of the cross does not cause you to realize how important it should be in your life, then you are a fool, perishing away like the rest of this dying world. The cross should always bring to your remembrance what price Jesus paid for you to have abundant life here on earth and everlasting life when we go to heaven. Never forget what He carried in your place as He died on that cross for you.

Galatians 3:13 says, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree…”, which means He has carried all our sickness, worry, fear, and anything else we may struggle with in life and bore it all for us on the cross. Don’t let the world turn you into a fool that forgets all that was accomplished that day when Jesus died on the cross. Instead, allow the cross to become the very power of God that will save you from hell and help you succeed in this life each and every day!

The cross should always bring to your remembrance what price Jesus paid for you to have abundant life here on earth and everlasting life when we go to heaven.

Confession for today: “Lord, help me to never forget all that was done for me when Jesus went to the cross on my behalf. Holy Spirit give me the power to stay away from foolish thinking that would cause me to perish, but instead allow me to live a life worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
