Last Friday’s message was about purpose from the story of Joseph in Genesis. Every time Joseph had a setback, God immediately elevated him forward into blessing and favor. If we can imitate Joseph’s perseverance and will to continue to serve God no matter what was going on around him, we will always see God’s favor and elevation take place in our lives. James 1:4 (AMPC) says,

“But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.”

In order for God to fully develop us without any lack or defect, we must allow endurance and steadfast patience to have its way in every area of our lives.  Although this may be hard to do or even think about when we are going through the trial, just remember Joseph. He was thrown in a pit by his brothers, sold as a slave, falsely accused, and thrown in jail, but at each point along the way the Word tells us that God’s favor was with him and caused him to prosper in all he did.

We can have the same results if we would just stay patient and allow the Holy Spirit to help us persevere through every trial so we can see God’s favor over take our lives!
