Setbacks Turned into Favor – Pt. 2

Joseph continued to trust God and persevered through all the trials he faced as He allowed God’s peace to keep him humble. 1 Peter 3:9-11 says,

“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”

It is very hard to not want to repay someone when they do wrong to us, but Joseph’s reaction to everyone who treated him wrong is what we should follow.  Just like the Word tells us in 1 Peter, the only way we are going see God’s purpose unfold for us is to pursue peace and not be so quick to react how the flesh wants us to react.  Keep in mind that God has a special purpose for each and everyone of us and if we would follow His peace through each trial we will walk in His blessings each and every day.
