Broken Trust

Trust is a funny thing. Early on in life, we’re usually open to trusting people right away, but as people start to let us down we become apprehensive about ever trusting them again.  When we’re hurt by someone in the natural, that pain can leak into our spirit-man, and we start allowing the enemy to cause us to not trust in the Lord also, thinking we will be let down in that area of our lives as well.  That is something a Spirit-filled believer cannot allow to happen and the only way we can combat it is to speak Proverbs 3:5-6 out over our lives.

“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

Remember last Friday’s prophetic word from the Holy Spirit about trusting God. No matter what has happened to you when it comes to trust in your life, you must fully trust and rely on the Lord with all your life. The only way we can lean on someone is to be close to them, so if you feel like your trust in the Lord is waning, get closer to Him each and every day by spending quality time in His presence. When we learn how to lean on the Lord for everything in our lives, our trust in Him will grow stronger each and every day!
