Day 25 “When we went under the water [in baptism], we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into a new country of grace—a life in a new land!” – Romans 6:1-2 Salvation in Jesus Christ is like a ship...
Let’s look Point #3 from our Summer Plan. Romans 12:11 – Serve the Lord with diligence. This one should be easy for everyone this summer if you all participate with us in Learning 2 Love 2 Serve!
Romans 12:9-12 (NIV)
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Serve the Lord with passion and zeal and allow His fire to burn inside you. (Daily devotions will keep the fire hot.) Jesus himself said in His Word that He came to earth to serve rather than be served. It is so important that you learn at an early age to put others before yourself in all you do. This simple life application allows God to bless your life when you are putting the needs of others before your own. Our challenge to you is to get involved this summer and get your heart focused on helping those around you who may be less fortunate, allowing God to use you to be a blessing to everyone you come in contact with. When you mix serving with your daily devotion time with the Lord you will see your spiritual life stay hot and on fire for the Lord as He uses your life to bring glory to His name!
