Conversation Worthy of the Gospel

Here’s a quick blurb from Paulie’s message about fixing your eyes on things that are noble.

The word noble means: to take into consideration what is right.

Reverent means behavior that is dignified, honorable, decent, and worthy of respect.

Those that call themselves Christians should set a good example, displaying a lifestyle that commands respect. Phil 1:27 says,

“Only let your conversation be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you, or, being absent, may hear of you, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind labouring together for the faith of the gospel.”

We live in a world where even though we may not talk face to face on a regular basis, we have hundreds of conversations throughout the course of a week via our phones and apps. What we say, type, and post is the same as how we act, so before we push send or open our mouth, we need to think about whether it is bringing glory to God.

You know the old saying: “If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all!” Well, it can also be said if you don’t have anything that would bring glory to God, keep your mouth shut!  If we can continually keep our eyes fixed on things that are true and noble we will be able to live a life worthy of the Gospel for the world to see!
