Conquer Your Mind Territories

Here’s a quick blurb from Anthony’s message last Friday on your thoughts:

“Territories” in our mind represent the core beliefs we hold that drive our decisions. Not only will the Holy Spirit help us conquer these territories, but He’ll also help us build fortified walls of faith around them. Then no siege of lies from the enemy can infiltrate our spiritual borders.

Here’s the three factors we need to build up our spiritual walls.

1. The “brick and mortar” of our walls: Reading the Word.

Asking questions and seeking answers in the Word about the situations we face is essential for our spiritual maturity.

Isaiah 55:3 – “Incline your ear and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live…”

Matthew 5:6 – “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

2. Plan ahead: Strategize with like-minded believers.

Utilize your God-given leadership and think about how the messages they share can be applied to your life. Hang around believers who encourage you toward godly things. Sometimes we don’t quite realize the negative influence some people have on us. Ask the Holy Spirit to weed out anyone who would knowingly or unknowingly lead you down a path that’s not part of God’s plan for your life. You’re better off with the Holy Spirit as your only friend, than with friends who regularly suggest that you follow another path.

3. Invite the Master Builder: Worship the Lord.

Matthew 4:10 – “Worship the Lord your God, and only Him. Serve Him with absolute single-heartedness.”

We can only build and maintain enduring walls by inviting the Lord to help us. Making time for the Lord when we could be doing something else is an open invitation for Him to transform and change our hearts, and solidify our confidence in His Word.
