Mad Love (Part 1)

Day 11

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

– Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 22:37, Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30

It’s not very common for people to read the Word as if it were a romance novel, but if you pay close attention, you’ll realize it’s one massive love story (don’t tune out just yet, guys). It’s full of heart-wrenching tragedies, endless betrayals, second chances, wars, reconciliation, third chances, reconciliation followed shortly by another series of betrayals, a 141st chance and a master plan by One to win back the heart of His true love forever. All of this for the sake of one thing: God’s love for mankind. Throughout the Bible, we see that God wanted one thing from Israel: for them to be in love with Him like He was in love with them. Now bring it all back to the present: God desires the same thing from us. Have you fallen in love with God yet?

Truly being in love with God is foundational to all of our relationships. If we know what loving God is like, we’ll know what loving a spouse is like. If we know what loving a spouse is like, we’ll know what it means to love our children and our family, and we’ll be well on our way to fulfilling one of the great purposes God has given mankind: to fill the earth with the image and likeness of Him and spread the Good News of His great love throughout.

“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”

– Ephesians 3:19 (AMPC)

Meditate on this verse and ask yourself, “Have I experienced God’s love for myself yet? Or do I just merely know about it?” More on this tomorrow…

Pursue your purpose in Him,
