Love is the Power Charge

Day 13

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

– John 15:12-13

Love. It is the first and foremost command Jesus gave us, yet all too many Christians neglect to follow it. I’m talking about Christians who can quote all kinds of Scripture and who may speak the Name of Jesus all day long, yet they are harsh and insensitive to the needs of their family and friends.

You may have been a Christian since you were three years old. You may speak in tongues, but if you have strife in your heart and are not living by the love commandment of Jesus, spiritual things are foolish to you. When you are in that condition, Jesus’ name won’t work, and faith won’t work, because the Bible says that faith works by love. In fact, none of the gifts of the Spirit will work if you don’t first have love. First Corinthians 13 says so!

Do you want to see God’s awesome power released through your life? Do you want to change the atmosphere wherever you go? From the halls of your schools, your job, or in your house? Then start putting the love commandment into action and start loving those around you.

Love is the power charge. God’s power package just won’t work without it. That’s why we’ve seen so many power failures in the lives of those around us. Starting today, you can turn those failures around. We can make up our minds to let God’s Word live strong within us. We can set our hearts on keeping Jesus’ commandments and speak His Name with confidence and authority. And, most important of all, we can begin to love one another. Then we will truly see the power of God begin to flow.

Start putting the love commandment into action, and start loving those around you.

Confession for today: “As I walk in love, I will see God’s awesome power released in my life.”

P.S. Remember this: Don’t say what you have . . . HAVE WHAT YOU SAY!
