“Jesus said to him; you shall love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.”
– Matthew 22:37
In this verse, Jesus was answering a man who asked Him, “What is the greatest commandment?” On the outside, it looked like the man asked Jesus this question because he wanted to learn, but on the inside the man was really trying to trick Jesus. The man was testing Jesus to see if he could get Him to say something wrong. What the man was thinking, and the attitude of his heart, were not right.
To love God with all of our heart, soul and mind means to love God with our thoughts, our motives, and our attitudes. It means we’re doing what’s right on the inside, and not just the outside. The Bible says that God sees what’s in our hearts and He wants us to love Him with everything that is in it.
Ask the Lord to search your heart today. Is there anything that is filling your heart more than your love for Him?
Confession for today: “Lord, I desire for my thoughts, motives, and attitudes to show my love for You. I put You first in my life, choosing to love You with my entire being!”
Be salt and light,
Miss Dawn
