Day 30
“Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.”
-Proverbs 19:21

It is very easy for us to get caught up with our own plans for the day. But as we go about the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, we must always be on the lookout for something that I like to call a “Purpose Pocket.” I define a “Purpose Pocket” as a small pocket of purpose for our lives, which God has set aside for us to fulfill for that day, outside of the larger purpose of where we may be in life at that time.
This could be an opportunity to encourage someone we meet, who is obviously feeling down, instead of doing nothing because “it may be awkward.” It could be an opportunity to take a moment and pay for someone’s groceries in the next checkout lane over, because the Holy Spirit knows their situation and impresses upon us to do so. It could simply be finding the time to text a scripture verse or make a phone call to pray with someone who the Lord puts on our heart. It is so vital, as believers, to be sensitive to what is going on around us, and not just narrowly focused on our own circumstances each day. Don’t miss a Purpose Pocket!
Confession for today: “Lord, no matter how busy I may get today, help me to stay alert and aware of the needs of those around me. Use me today, by the leading of Your Holy Spirit, to accomplish every “Purpose Pocket” that You have set before me, no matter how big or how small. Give me boldness to act on Your behalf in every situation where You may require my intervention. Help me not to miss any opportunity within Your will and purpose for my life, to fulfill my “Purpose Pockets” for the day!
Fight the good fight of faith!
