Getting it Done
“God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good and fulfill it?”
– Numbers 23:19
Nothing we do can change God. He won’t be handcuffed by our failures or unleashed by our successes. God calls us by invitation because this is His story. He doesn’t invite us because He needs us, He invites us because He loves us. In reality, if we really wanted to explain who God is, there wouldn’t be enough books to contain it!
Job 38-41 is God’s “big boy” speech to Job. God speaks out and it isn’t pretty. God had enough of Job’s complaining and questioning of who He is. God let Job have it! After that speech there was no denying just who God is! In the end, God is going to get the job done with or without us.
Without question, there is a God, and He made us for a reason. Our lives have profound meaning! We discover that meaning and purpose when we make God the reference point of our lives. The only thing we can control is when and where we start. Only God knows how it is going to finish. Find your purpose in living for God. Embrace your talents and gifts. Have passion. Don’t be afraid. Be patient. Success is built on doing a lot of little things right, and building a sure foundation.
Confession for today: “Today is a new day, and I rejoice in the greatness of who You are! I pray with the help of the Holy Spirit that I will make You the reference point in my life, and in doing so my day will have purpose in living for You in all that I do. Today, through the gifts and talents that You have given to me, I’m getting it done for Your glory!”
